Ofsted Inspection Praises Outstanding Shoreside

At New Horizons (NW), we are delighted to announce that Shoreside, one of our residential care homes for children and young people, has been rated Outstanding in its recent Ofsted inspection.

The inspection, conducted on 18 and 19 December 2024, highlighted the exceptional quality of care provided at Shoreside. The home received an Outstanding rating in the following areas:

  • Overall experiences and progress of children and young people
  • How well children are helped and protected
  • The effectiveness of leaders and managers
  • Exceptional Care and Positive Outcomes

Ofsted Inspectors praised the staff’s ability to form nurturing relationships with children, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence. The team’s tailored educational and emotional support was recognised for enabling children to achieve remarkable progress.

The report noted that “the actions of the children’s home contribute to significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people who need help, protection and care.”

Strong Leadership & Team Commitment

Under the guidance of the registered manager Rowan Martin, the home’s leadership was described as highly motivated and ambitious in driving positive outcomes. The commitment to staff development, regular supervision, and reflective practices ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality care.
