Annual Family Fun Day 2023
The New Horizons Annual Family Fun Day, now in its third year, continues to grow as we develop as a company.
New Horizons (NW) provide Residential Care Homes and Services to vulnerable children and young people between the ages of 7 and 17.
This year’s Family Fun Day event was held at Walmer Bridge Village Hall on Saturday 1st July 2023, from midday to 4 pm, and was well attended by staff, families and young people of all ages.
Our Family Fun Day is a free annual event that we organise to say thank you to everyone involved with New Horizons (NW).
The day was packed with activities for all ages. Fun games to play and prizes to be won, with lots of nice things to eat and drink, there was something for everyone. The weather was mostly sunny, with just one brief downpour but, despite the rain, everyone had a great time.
Some of the highlights included children’s entertainer Kuko the Clown, a friendly visit from the West Lancashire Police, a mass tug of war and lots of racing games for the young people, all ably compared by ITV’s Paul Crone.
There was face painting by Sarah, ice creams from Raheem of Martin’s Whippy, slushies from Naz, some of Jonathan’s fantastic inflatables, and a ‘stay on the bull’ ride. The excellent food was provided by Chris on the BBQ, serving burgers and sausages and Gareth of The Fish Bay, serving Traditional Fish and Chips. We were well and truly full by the end of the day.
Thanks to the businesses that donated all the fabulous prizes for our raffle: The Hair Lounge Southport, Mark Regan at The Carpet Shop Southport, Jo Wilson of Ignite Business Training and Britannia IT, Southport.
Also, a big thank you to Gary and Jennie of 127 Media for capturing all the wonderful images throughout the day.
“We’re already looking forward to and planning for next year, which will be bigger and better than ever,” said New Horizons (NW) Director & Responsible Individual, Natalie Waterhouse, following the event.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to support our Family Fun Day,” said New Horizons (NW) Director & Referral Manager, Tracy Sucksmith. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and connect each year. Thanks to everyone, for their support and for making it such a memorable occasion.”
