17th Birthday Celebrations in York
One of our young people from The Meadows has been to York and stayed overnight at the Hilton hotel, as part of their 17th birthday celebrations.
The hotel was informed ahead that it was a birthday treat and on arrival, they received a complimentary box of Cadbury chocolates.
They chose and helped to book their birthday activities while there, which included a ghost walk, visiting the castle, and the light show at York Minster. All of which they thoroughly enjoyed.
They also enjoyed a birthday meal at a Mexican restaurant and shared that she had a wonderful night’s sleep and a posh breakfast at the hotel. This was followed by some retail therapy and bought themselves some new clothes and treats.
Acknowledging a young person’s birthday and this activity helps strengthen the bond and trust between young people and those responsible for their care.
As you can tell from the story above, this is a very rewarding and positive outcome for both the young people and the staff from The Meadows.
